Course overview

The PADI Bubblemaker program is a fun introductory diving course designed specifically for kids aged 8 – 9 years of age. This course allows young adventurers to experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional in a safe and controlled environment at the Lord Byng swimming pool. Participants get to breathe underwater using actual scuba gear and swim around in shallow water. The maximum depth for dives in the Bubblemaker program is only two meters/ six feet.

The key objectives of the program include introducing children to the basics of using scuba equipment, teaching them fundamental safety rules, and inspiring an appreciation for the underwater world. It’s an exciting way for kids to explore the aquatic realm and start building skills that could lead to further diving adventures and certifications as they grow older. This course is perfect for children who are comfortable in the water but aren’t yet ready for deeper scuba diving courses.

Come join us and let your child take their first breath underwater, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Start their aquatic journey today and watch as they bubble with excitement and confidence!

Kids aged 10 – 11 can experience this program as well and consider moving on to a full PADI Open Water Diver Referral program to take their journey to the next level as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver in a tropical location for their next holiday!

Curriculum

When you sign your soon-to-be underwater explorer up for the PADI Bubblemaker Program you will be asked to look over the PADI Medical Form on his/her behalf. It is essential that you look it over carefully and, if necessary, have it signed off by a physician before the course begins.

The course begins at the store at 5:30 pm where we’ll go over some introductory knowledge about scuba diving safety, techniques and equipment. We’ll also introduce them to some of the skills they’ll encounter in the pool.

The pool session follows the classroom at the Lord Byng swimming pool. Here they will be introduced to equipment assembly and some basic scuba skills. They will have time to practice breathing and swimming underwater and start to learn the basics of buoyancy control.

An adult must accompany each child or family group for the duration of the program.
