Course overview
IDC’s Basic Refresher course (sometimes referred to as Scuba Tune-Up) is an easy way for you to get some time with a certified PADI Instructor or Divemaster and go through the basic skills you learned in your Open Water Diver Course or equivalent. This program is held frequently at IDC and is a semi-private session where you get the undivided attention of the professional instructing the course. The refresher is customized around your needs in order to renew your back knowledge and confidence to head back into the water.
We will review the PADI RDP and/or eRDP dive tables and basic dive planning as well as the basic dive physics, physiology and dive equipment information that certified divers need to know.
After your class session, we will proceed to the pool to cover equipment set up and handling along with 20 fundamental in-water skills that comprise the PADI Open Water Course. Students will receive ample time and instruction to regain confidence with not only these skills but buoyancy and basic in-water comfort and propulsion.
Certified divers that have not been actively diving in several months or years, depending upon previous experience, are often required by diving operations around the world to complete a Refresher before booking dives for safety reasons. IDC’s Basic Refresher course is a great way to prepare yourself to splash back in the water after a prolonged dry spell before you head off on vacation. Don’t miss out on dives while you are traveling because you didn’t complete one before you left home.
