Course overview

Discover scuba diving today with IDC’s Experience Scuba course is a one day introductory experience in the class and pool. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater the Experience Scuba answers that question for you. You will be introduced to basic knowledge and skills in the classroom and pool to keep you safe and comfortable underwater. These are the most basic skills that will be covered in more comprehensive certification courses; this is a great, low-stress opportunity to approach not only being underwater, but also performing some tasks while diving. Students will have plenty of time in the water to learn and play while using scuba.

This is an excellent option for those that are interested in scuba diving but who are not sure it is for them. Experience Scuba offers you the opportunity to try diving without committing to a full Open Water course.

If you end up loving scuba diving (and we suspect you will) then we offer a $40 credit towards the Open Water course should you decide to sign up within 3 months after your Experience Scuba Diving experience.

We Supply

  • All Equipment and Instruction Included
  • Class Room and Scuba Equipment Orientation

You Supply

  • Swimsuit & towel
  • Transportation to the pool
  • Completed PADI Medical form

Curriculum

When you sign up for the Experience Scuba Course you will be asked to look over the PADI Medical Form. This is your only homework before the class begins, but it is essential that you look it over carefully and, if necessary, have it signed off by a physician before the course begins.

The course begins at the store at 7:00 pm where we’ll go over some introductory knowledge about scuba diving safety, techniques and equipment. We’ll also introduce you to some of the skills you’ll encounter in the pool.

The pool session follows the classroom. Here you will be introduced to equipment assembly and some basic scuba skills. You will have time to practice breathing and swimming underwater and start to learn the basics of buoyancy control.

If you enjoy this first experience with the underwater world (and we have a feeling you will), we encourage you to go ahead and register for the full Open Water course to become a certified diver.

Course Extras

Once you take a Discover Scuba experience with IDC, sign up with us for your full Open Water Course to begin within 3 months of the Discover Scuba and receive a credit of $40 towards the cost of the Open Water Course.
