How Our Dives Work (Organized, Not Guided)

Please note that these are organized group dives, not guided tours.

  • Buddy System: We will buddy everyone up based on your specific certification level and experience.
  • Instructor Support: Our instructor will be on-site to help organize the group and facilitate making sure everyone is paired up properly and safely.
  • Your Responsibility: You and your buddy will plan and execute your own dive safely within your training limits!

The Main Cove Reefs (Open Water Friendly)

  • The Depth: 35’– 55’ (11–17 metres).
  • The Vibe: Easy, controlled entries right from the stairs! We will cruise along the sandy bottom (or surface swim out to the three yellow buoys) to explore an awesome underwater treasure hunt.
  • The Sites: We will safely tour the Granthall (a sunken barge), check out the Centennial (a sailboat hull), and weave through the Leaning Tower of Porteau (concrete pillars built as safe habitats for critters).
  • Skills Bonus: Want to practice your techniques? We’ll hit up the underwater "jungle gym"—the perfect, controlled spot to dial in your buoyancy and show off your hover skills.
  • Critter Watch: Keep your eyes peeled for crabs, tunicates, glowing sea pens, lingcod, octopuses, and the occasional dogfish cruising by!

The Nakaya Wreck (Advanced Divers)

  • The Depth: 70’– 100’ (21–30 metres).
  • The Vibe: A well-planned, deeper excursion for our Advanced Open Water certified crew!
  • The Site: This old WWII minesweeper is crumbling beautifully into the seabed, making it an incredible historical site to tour from the outside. Safety note: Because the structure is unstable, this is strictly a look-but-don't-touch, no-penetration dive.
  • The Plan: To ensure a safe, comfortable swim out to the white buoy, we will time our entry perfectly with slack tide to avoid any strong currents.
  • Critter Watch: This deep reef structure is home to massive lingcod, giant longhorn decorator crabs, and tons of vibrant nudibranchs.
