1. Why Prescription Lenses Require a Dual-Lens Mask
Corrective optical lenses cannot be installed into single-lens (one continuous glass window) masks. Optical replacement glass requires a Dual-Lens Mask featuring two distinct left and right glass panes held by a central bridge. This allows technicians to pop out the stock factory glass and replace each side independently with your specific diopter rating.
2. How to Choose Your Diopter Strength
Off-the-shelf optical dive lenses are manufactured in 0.5 diopter increments. To calculate what you need from your eyeglass prescription card:

If your prescription includes a small Cylinder (CYL) value, optical specialists generally recommend taking half of your CYL value and adding it algebraically to your Sphere (SPH) value, then rounding down to the nearest 0.5 diopter. Example: SPH -3.00 with CYL -0.50 → Target Diopter: -3.25 → Select -3.0 or -3.5 optical lens.
