Detailed Course Schedule & Curriculum

Part 1: Self-Paced eLearning & Wednesday Night Briefing

Complete your digital PADI Rescue eLearning modules prior to the first evening. On Wednesday evening (7:30 PM start), we meet in the classroom to review knowledge development, stress management, emergency action plans, and CPR/First Aid refreshers.

Part 2: Heated Pool Skill Introduction

Following the Wednesday classroom review, we head directly to our heated indoor pool for a 1-hour session. This controlled environment allows you to safely practice essential rescue techniques before taking them to the ocean:

  • Recognizing and managing diver stress in others.
  • Self-rescue skills and panicked diver management at the surface and underwater.
  • Unconscious diver response and in-water rescue breathing techniques.

Part 3: Open Water Scenarios at Whytecliff Park (Saturday & Sunday)

Spend Saturday and Sunday morning (4–5 hours per day) at Vancouver’s premier dive site, Whytecliff Park. Under instructor guidance, you will hone, adapt, and execute critical rescue skills in realistic open water scenarios:
