Course Overview

The PADI DSAT Gas Blender Specialty provides the technical knowledge, standardized calculations, and practical procedures required to blend enriched air nitrox and safely manage oxygen systems. Holding this globally recognized DSAT certification makes Divemasters and Instructors significantly more employable at dive centers worldwide.

Training takes place using the Lower Mainland’s most comprehensive gas-filling setup at International Diving Centre—equipped with continuous-flow and partial-pressure blending systems, dedicated oxygen and helium banks, and an integrated oxygen-compatible booster pump. Under the direct supervision of a Trimix Blending Instructor with over 30 years of field experience, you will gain hands-on operational practice mixing actual breathing gases and learning basic oxygen-cleaning protocols.

Curriculum

Your training combines independent manual study with hands-on classroom and fill-station instruction:

• Blending Physics & Mathematics: Learn straightforward formulas to compute precise gas ratios, partial pressures, and target fill pressures.
• Safety & Oxygen Handling: Review fire hazards, materials compatibility, safety protocols, and basic oxygen-cleaning standards for scuba components.
• Practical Application: Operate fill-station manifold systems, blend nitrox to exact target percentages, and verify final mixes using calibrated oxygen analyzers.
