Understanding Wrist Seal Base Diameter (90mm vs. 100mm)
The 90mm and 100mm measurements refer to the outer base diameter (the suit-side attachment end) of the seal, not your wrist size. This distinction dictates how the seal connects to your drysuit or quick-change system:
1. Base Diameter (90mm vs. 100mm)
- 100mm Seals: Designed to fit standard, full-sized modular quick-change wrist systems (such as the SI Tech QCS Oval, GLOVLOCK, or standard glue-in sleeves).
- 90mm Seals: Feature a narrower base profile meant for slimmer sleeves or specialized quick-change systems (such as SI Tech's Släggö flex rings) where a lower-profile connection at the forearm is required.
2. Base Diameter vs. Wrist Size
- Base Diameter (90mm / 100mm): Controls compatibility with your suit's rings or sleeve cuff.
- Wrist Size (XS, S, M, L): Controls how tightly the seal fits around your skin.
For instance, you can have a Medium wrist seal with a 90mm base or a Medium wrist seal with a 100mm base.
Tip: Check the user manual or model name of the wrist rings installed on your drysuit (e.g., QCS Oval vs. Släggö). Matching that system determines whether you need a 90mm or 100mm base.
