I recently purchased an Alaskan dry suit from IDC. I won’t have the opportunity to use it for a few months but I can offer some observations of the suit itself. It seems to be well made and has a number advantages over other non-neoprene suits. (Love that new suit glue aroma!) The suit is classed as a TriLam so the material will be inherently a bit heavier and much more durable than other ultralight suits. It comes standard with attached boots and suspenders. Most other competing suits come with neoprene socks which requires the purchase of zippered booties to wear over the socks. The attached booties fit nicely into my fins where my previous suit and booties were a much tighter fit and required a bit of effort to put on my fins. The suspenders are a nice feature while diving and on shore as they keep the suit from slumping down. The crotch strap/telescoping torso feature is good. It would have been nice to be able to customize the suit for a better fit or to have neoprene or latex wrist and neck seals or a plastic zipper rather than the metal one. The size chart that you use for ordering could be a little more specific and have some intermediate sizes which I guess might drive up the cost. When trying on my suit without any underwear it was somewhat baggy which will likely be reduced when wearing dry suit underwear. One last minor point, the manufacturer should have included some zipper lube with the suit. I have no reservations in recommending this dry suit to anyone thinking about replacing or upgrading. It is very economical compared to other competing suits and I have doubt that IDC will stand behind the products they sell.

Hi Ken,
Great review and can’t wait to hear how the suit dives for you, I will send out some lube for you as I did not know they do not include with the suit. My impressions of the suit are similar and a very well made suit for the price.
Regards,

Great quality! The fabric looked and felt durable and was well built. I returned it because of a sizing issue (large feet) but was disappointed to do so. If the suit fits you I would recommend it wholeheartedly
