The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs.
IDC's PADI Rescue Diver Course is for those who are 12 years and older, hold a valid Emergency First Response or equivalent certification and are Advanced Open Water certified. It is an important and crucial step in expanding a diver's knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well being of other divers. This is why the PADI Rescue Diver rating is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training and is a favourite among divers.

IDC will provide all equipment, except: Mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves
*NOTE*If you answer "yes" to any questions on the PADI Medical Form, you will have to submit a PADI Medical Form (signed by a doctor) before starting any in water training. PADI Medical Statement.
Knowledge Development
Read the chapters from your PADI Rescue Diver manual, complete the Knowledge Reviews at the end of each chapter and prepare to hand them in on the night of the exam.
Pool and Ocean Dives
You will need mask, snorkel, boots, fins and a swimsuit for the pool session. Other equipment will be supplied.
If you have not been previously fitted, you will need to come into the store for equipment fitting (10-20 minutes) at least three days prior to your ocean dives.
You will need to pick up your gear from the store on the Friday before your ocean dives, between 12:00 noon and 7:00pm.
