People interested in becoming an open water scuba diver are typically motivated to learn because they are taking a trip for professional reasons, or, for the majority, scuba diving is on their life list of things to do.
"I can't believe I waited this long to do this" is a statement we hear from many divers upon completion of their training. Course schedules are often not going to be perfectly convenient but putting off learning to dive may be something you regret. We are confident that you will be part of the majority who will find as much passion in scuba diving as we do.
Materials / Required Equipment / Minimum Age
- Please bring a pen to class, and bring a bathing suit and towel for the pool.
- All equipment is included. If you have your own mask, snorkel and fins, you are welcome to use your own.
Minimum Age: 10 years old
Orientation
- If you answer "yes" to any questions on the PADI Medical Form, you will have to submit a PADI Medical Form signed by a doctor, unless you submitted one for training within the previous 12 months, before starting the course. PADI Medical Statement.
Knowledge Development
- No homework is required for the Discover Scuba diving course. If you so choose to register for the full Open Water Course IDC will credit $30.00 of your Discover Scuba diving fee to your Open Water registration. Call IDC for further details.
Pool Dive
- All Equipment for your pool session are supplied. All you need is a swim suit and towel for a night of fun.
- If you think you may be cold during your experience in the pool, you may rent one of our wetsuits for $5.00.
Learning Outcomes
- Discover Scuba Diving with IDC will take you through the first night of the Open Water course. You may apply this evening's training to your full certification if you so choose.
